Leadership of St. Peter's Church

Leadership at St. Peter's is mostly volunteers. Volunteers are elected by the members of the church and are called Elders. Elders give of their time and talents for three-years. Their service is the management of everything the church does, including church priorities, staff decisions and where the assets of the church are expended. This group of Elders is called the church's Session.

The Session has a Moderator... the church's Pastor (part of pastoral duties). the Clerk-of-Session and the Treasurer each serve on a year-to-year basis and need not be active Elders, though both are elected volunteers. Active Elders "rotate" in their service (about 1/3 rotating on/off each year). Together, these volunteers make up the elected, representative, governing body of the church.
